About SimLab
SimLab exists to answer one question honestly: which golf simulator is actually right for you? Not the one with the biggest marketing budget, not the one paying the highest commission — the one that fits your space, your budget, and how you actually play.
Why we started this site
A home golf simulator is a $500 to $20,000+ decision, and most of the advice online is either a retailer trying to close a sale or a spec sheet copied from the manufacturer. We wanted a place that treats the decision the way a careful buyer would: total cost of ownership including subscriptions and accessories, real-world accuracy instead of lab claims, and honest talk about space requirements before you buy something that doesn't fit your garage.
How we work
Every review follows the same process: we aggregate 100–300+ owner reports from Reddit, golf forums, and retailer reviews, cross-reference independent accuracy testing, and document manufacturer specs. Each product is scored on six weighted criteria — accuracy, software ecosystem, value, setup ease, space efficiency, and support. The scoring math is the same for every product, and we publish it in full on our methodology page.
How we make money
When you buy through links on SimLab, we may earn a commission from the retailer. That's the entire business model — no sponsored posts, no paid placements, no manufacturer relationships. Commissions never affect scores or rankings: our top pick in each category is our top pick whether or not we earn anything when you buy it. Full details are on our affiliate disclosure page.
What we don't do
- We don't accept payment for reviews or rankings.
- We don't let manufacturers preview or edit our content.
- We don't recommend products we wouldn't tell a friend to buy.
