How We Review Golf Simulators
We don't sell simulators. We help you choose one.
Every review on this site follows the same research process. We publish this process publicly so you can evaluate whether our methodology is sound before trusting our recommendations.
1. Aggregate Owner Data
We analyze 100–300+ owner reports from Reddit (r/Golfsimulator, r/golf), golf forums (GolfWRX, MyGolfSpy forums), YouTube comments, and verified purchase reviews before writing a single sentence. We look for patterns, not individual opinions — what do the majority of owners say about accuracy, reliability, and software quality over time?
2. Reference Independent Testing
We cite accuracy data from MyGolfSpy and other independent testers where available. We don't manufacture this data — we interpret and synthesize it for you, and we always link to the primary source so you can read it yourself.
3. Hands-On Access Where Possible
We seek hands-on time at simulator bars, golf retailers, and through manufacturer demos. When we have hands-on experience with a product, we note it. When we don't, we're transparent about that too.
4. Manufacturer Data
We document all manufacturer specifications and note where they differ from real-world owner reports. Marketing claims and actual performance often diverge — we surface those gaps.
5. Ongoing Updates
Every review shows a "last updated" date. We update when new firmware, pricing changes, or significant owner feedback shifts our recommendation. A review from two years ago may no longer be accurate — our update dates tell you exactly how fresh the information is.
Our Scoring System
Every product is scored 1–10 across six dimensions, then weighted into an overall score:
| Dimension | Weight | What we evaluate |
|---|---|---|
| Accuracy | 25% | Ball and club data precision vs independent benchmarks |
| Software Ecosystem | 20% | Compatible software, course quality, subscription value |
| Value for Money | 25% | Performance relative to price, including true cost of ownership |
| Setup Ease | 15% | Time to first use, calibration, day-to-day usability |
| Space Efficiency | 10% | Minimum ceiling height and room depth requirements |
| Support / Warranty | 5% | Manufacturer warranty, software update history, community support |

We earn commissions from qualifying purchases through our links. This never influences which products we recommend or how we score them. We recommend the best products regardless of commission rate — and we'll tell you to buy from Amazon or skip a purchase entirely when that's the right call.
We disclose this on every review page, in our footer, and here. If you have questions about our process, contact us.
