Foresight GC3 vs Bushnell Launch Pro: Same Hardware, $3,500 Apart — Which Do You Buy? (2026)

Updated: June 2026

Quick Answer
Buy the Foresight GC3 if:

You plan to own it 10+ years, hate subscriptions on principle, want FSX Play unlocked from day one without ongoing fees, or can write off the cost in a professional or business context. The included Bushnell Pro X3 LINK rangefinder also adds standalone value.

Buy the Bushnell Launch Pro if:

You want the most accurate launch monitor under $3,000, have a gaming PC for FSX Play, and are comfortable paying $499/yr for sim access. The Launch Pro is the same accuracy at $3,500 less upfront — for most buyers, the math favors it for the first 8–9 years of ownership.

This is the most unusual comparison on the site: two products that are, in every technically meaningful sense, the same device. Same three high-speed cameras. Same triscopic measurement system. Same accuracy. Same data parameters. Same placement, same setup, same build. In direct side-by-side testing, their ball speed readings run within 1 mph of each other and every other metric tracks identically.

The only real difference is how you pay for them.

The Hardware Is Identical

Foresight Sports built the GC3. Bushnell’s parent company (Vista Outdoor) acquired Foresight in 2021 and rebranded the hardware as the Bushnell Launch Pro. The current “Circle B” Launch Pro is the same physical unit: same triscopic camera array, same transflective LCD, same battery, same WiFi/USB-C/Ethernet connectivity, same dimensions (6” × 5” × 12”), same 5 lb weight.

In side-by-side testing, ball speed readings differ by at most 1 mph — likely unit-to-unit variation rather than systematic hardware difference. Carry distance, spin, face angle, and club data track identically. If you’re choosing between these two products on accuracy grounds, there’s no meaningful choice to make. Pick the one whose pricing model suits you.

The Subscription Model: The Only Actual Decision

Foresight GC3 ($5,999):

  • All ball and club data: included
  • FSX Play (25 courses): included
  • FSX 2020: included
  • FSX Pro Performance (mobile app): included
  • Awesome Golf + Foresight Fairgrounds: included
  • Bushnell Pro X3 LINK rangefinder: included
  • GSPro: $250/yr optional add-on
  • Additional FSX courses: $150–$500 each (lifetime ownership)
  • Annual cost after purchase: $0–$250/yr

Bushnell Launch Pro ($2,499):

  • Ball data only: included at base price
  • Club data: Silver subscription $199/yr minimum
  • FSX Play sim access: Gold subscription $499/yr
  • Third-party sim (GSPro, E6): also requires Gold $499/yr
  • Annual cost for full access: $499/yr (Gold)
  • Annual cost with GSPro: $749/yr

The 10-Year Math

YearGC3 TotalLaunch Pro Total (Gold)Launch Pro Total (Gold + GSPro)
Year 1$5,999$2,998$3,248
Year 2$5,999$3,497$3,997
Year 3$5,999$3,996$4,746
Year 5$5,999$4,994$6,244
Year 9$6,249$6,490$8,740
Year 10$6,499$6,989$9,489

With GSPro added, the Launch Pro overtakes the GC3 around year 8. Without GSPro, it’s year 9. Below 9 years of ownership, the Launch Pro is cheaper. Above 9 years, the GC3 is cheaper — by a widening margin.

Where the GC3 Has Real Advantages Beyond Price

Cleaner activation. The GC3 setup is: power on → connect to WiFi → scan QR code → enter activation code in each FSX app once → done. No subscription portal, no tier confusion, no subscription status recognition issues. Launch Pro users have reported recurring friction with subscription status not registering correctly in the FSX apps — a consequence of the subscription layer sitting between the hardware and the software.

FSX Play unlocked from day one. There’s no decision about which subscription tier to buy or whether the trial converts correctly. Power it on, you have full sim access.

Bushnell Pro X3 LINK Rangefinder included. A $300–$400 standalone value. The LINK ecosystem pairs your shot history (via the Foresight app) with the rangefinder to display personalized club recommendations in the reticle on the course. The Launch Pro doesn’t include this.

Third-party sim without Gold. GSPro access on the GC3 requires only the $250/yr GSPro license. On the Launch Pro, GSPro access requires Gold ($499/yr) plus the GSPro license ($250/yr) — $749/yr total. If GSPro is your primary sim environment, the GC3 is significantly cheaper annually.

Where the Launch Pro Wins

$3,500 less upfront. For most buyers, the 9-year breakeven is longer than they expect to own the same unit. The Launch Pro’s lower entry price leaves budget for a quality enclosure, projector, and mat — the parts of a simulator setup that often get underbudgeted.

Lower financial commitment for trial buyers. If you’re not certain you’ll use a launch monitor long-term, the Launch Pro is a less expensive test of the experience.

Who Each Unit Is For

Choose the Foresight GC3 if:

  • You expect to own it 10+ years — a facility, committed sim room, or known long-term user
  • Subscriptions are a dealbreaker — you want one payment and no recurring decisions
  • GSPro is your primary sim and you want to avoid the Gold subscription just to access it
  • You can write off the cost (instructor, fitter, golf content creator, facility)
  • The Bushnell LINK rangefinder has real value in your on-course routine

Choose the Bushnell Launch Pro if:

  • You’re not certain you’ll own a launch monitor for 10+ years
  • $3,500 less upfront matters — for enclosure, projector, and mat budget
  • You’re comfortable with the $499/yr Gold subscription
  • US availability isn’t an issue (the Launch Pro is US-only; the GC3 ships internationally)
